Alright, so it is Easter Holidays again & yes it is an extended weekend too. So what’s the big deal?
Well, for the devout Christian, it is a big deal indeed! The date is believed to be that when the Lord was sacrificed at the cross for the sins of others. Three days after he was buried in his tomb he came back from the dead & surprised most his followers. A few, it is said, were sure of his resurrection. Easter is to cherish this grand occurrence and is amongst the most important festivals in the Christian calendar.


For a vast majority of us though, it is a free holiday, courtesy our Christian brethren and is a time for catching up with family. It is that time of the year when the kids are free post their exams and thanks to the festival perpetually falling on a Friday, it invariably makes it a long weekend. Visiting the homes of Christian friends is another pastime many of us take time out for to help indulge in the various goodies that are unique to this great festival.
